Teachers didnt know how to discipline the students, dress code, before all the uniform stuff because I didnt wear uniforms when I went, was horrible. You would get dress coded for anything, even if your bra strap is showing. Couldnt wear a skirt above your knees, along with shorts. Stores dont sell shorts for girls that go to the knee, and if they do they arent fashionable. We were forced to wear jeans in 90 degree weather, and since holes weren't allowed we didnt even have space for our legs to breathe at all. When I was in 8th grade at bear creek I was put on the C team, and I am a good student. The C team was full of disruptive kids and when you asked to change teams becsuse you can't pay attention because of all the disruptive kids, you weren't allowed to. The disruptive students had to be told by the police officer to stop making paper guns. And they were told to stop throwing paper in rubber bands on multiple occasions, I got hit with one once, and it left a mark for a while. There were multiple occasions of my teachers breaking down, and I dont blame them because the students were out of control. The lunch was terrible, and we could never use our phones not even at lunch. Some people wouldn't find that as a problem but being able to use a phone at lunch provides a good break from school. I would probably choose a prision over this school. I haven't remembered anything that I learned while at this school. Bits and pieces like the name Oglethorpe stick out. the thing I do remember though, Is how to get away with dress code. Also, all of the students who were wearing uniforms didn't get in trouble if their skirt was above their knees. They were in uniform so they were perfectly undistracting, right? Also every other day the grits in the morning would be brown because they kept them over and they still surved them. I believe my rant about this hellhole is done, I hope your children, or you, will not have to go to this school. It is a living hell.
Their track and cross country teams are ok, but really fun and supportive. One of my major complaints is the fact that some of the teachers don't respect freedom of religion, and ridiculed me for being christian. Another is that they don't discipline students and wont let you use the bathroom after hours without teacher's consent!!
Hearing unfortunate account of bullying not only by students, but also, by PE Teacher...calling a child fat, lazy and making him cry. Another child attacked by two students and beaten with a cord and mouse causing large welts....nothing done about it. Very sad.
Teachers do not know how to handle kids... Teachers cuss kids out and tell them that they are going no where in life. Dr. Wood is rude, biased, and extremely hypocritical. Very few nice staff here. In my 8th grade year a girl was receiving anal in the restroom! Two girls were eating each other out. Fights happened frequently and were always ending up on snapchat. There were guys that would pleasure themselves in class. Genitalia would always be drawn on the walls and "Sticky Fluids" were always on the wall and toilet seats. The teachers there are extremely homophobic. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME THERE ARE VIDEOS!!!!
